Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
Welcome to Merritt Secondary School
MSS is a grade 8-12 school that is housed in a modern and well-equipped facility. Our school features a permanent drama stage, multi-purpose lunchroom, full service industrial shops, large weight/fitness room and a gym. Our dedicated and experienced teacher and support staff work hard to ensure that students receive a quality education that prepares our students for the 21st Century. At MSS we strive to inspire and empower one another to lead purposeful lives. We will passionately and respectfully engage one another to recognize and reach our individual potential.
At MSS we are proud of our school and proud of our students. Every day provides amazing examples of how caring and how accomplished our students are. Our future with these students as leaders looks very promising.
I also want to extend a special thanks to our Parent Advisory Committee and Community partners who have contributed their time in the pursuit of creating a school we can be proud of. What an amazing group of students, parents, staff and community members!
Parents, I look forward to working with you as you navigate your way through the challenging teen years. Parental involvement, regular student attendance and good work habits are key to student success.
MSS has many programs, clubs and teams and we encourage students to explore what we have to offer and become involved. An “engaged” student is a motivated student!
If you have questions or concerns about the educational experience of your child, or any other question, please contact a member of the administration, a counsellor or a teacher directly.
